FRC Team 6036

Our Roadmap

Peninsula Robotics was established in 2016 and has served as a welcoming environment for students to grow into STEM innovators and leaders. We started as a community team operating out of a garage, and have grown into a best-in-class organization competing on the world stage. Our growth has been rapid, but the journey has been long—and we’re still building.

2016

Rookie season breakthrough

As a rookie team without much prior experience, we pushed into the playoff rounds at the Silicon Valley Regional—competing with teams that had been building for years. That first season set our culture: learn fast, work together, and keep improving.

2019

Creativity Awards + Worlds qualification

We earned the Creativity Award at both the San Francisco and Silicon Valley Regionals, qualifying for the World Championships. Competing on that stage taught us what “best-in-class” looks like—and raised our standard for engineering and teamwork.

2020–2021

COVID setback, then rebuild

The pandemic hit us hard. We temporarily closed our lab and couldn’t train new recruits the way we normally would. Since then, we’ve rebuilt our training pipeline and strengthened our mentorship culture so new students can grow faster and take ownership sooner.

2022

Major growth + dominant season

We tripled our team size with a wave of new recruits and built one of our strongest seasons. Winning the Idaho Regional qualified us for Worlds again, where we advanced to division semifinals and ranked among the top teams worldwide.

2024

A permanent home

After our most successful seasons to date, we moved out of our garage and into a permanent workspace. As graduating leaders passed the torch, the team continued its strong community and student-led focus as one of the top teams in the Bay Area.

2025

Expanding community impact

We continued expanding STEM opportunities in our community by growing our programs and launching new summer camp classes. As the team expanded, we broadened our reach and supported scholarships for students who might not otherwise have access.
